Erg Chegaga South Of Morocco
Erg Chegaga (or Chigaga) is one of the two great ergs of the Sahara in Morocco, the other being Erg Chebbi.
This dune massif located in the Souss-Massa-Drâa region, is about 50 km west of the rural town of M’Hamid El Ghizlane, itself located about 98 km south of the city of Zagora .
About 40 km long and 15 km wide, this erg, some dunes of which reach a height of 300 m (170 m for Erg Chebbi), is the largest and wildest in Morocco.
Because of its relatively difficult access only accessible by 4×4, camel or on foot, Erg Chigaga remains less frequented than Erg Chebbi, which allows you to experience the still wild desert.
